… and then there’s days like this. This is the second morning in a row that I’ve woke up physically ill. Actually, I was sick all night. I find that I get nauseated many times throughout the day, but usually the only time I throw up is when I have a sick migraine.
“Lupus can affect both the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system. Lupus may attack the nervous system via antibodies that bind to nerve cells or the blood vessels that feed them, or by interrupting the blood flow to nerves.” -John Hopkins
Doesn’t that sound like fun? 🙄 NOT.
So I spent most of my morning in bed and in the bathroom. When I wake up sick like this, I obviously cant take my meds. 😞
1) They would make me more nauseated. And probably come right back up.
2) Therefore, I’d be wasting medicine I NEED. So I start taking them as soon as I know I can hold them down.
Btw… this isn’t a lot of medicine… because I try using holistic measures to help me. Currently there is no cure, unless God miraculously cures me, which could very well happen. Many of my Loopy friends (from support groups), take twice this amount of medication. We all follow a different path. We all try to do what is right for us. Some of my friends have no choice because their internal organs are failing. So far so good for me, thank you Lord.
So my morning was spent in bed:
Lol… sorry, I told you that you’d never know what I look like from one day to the next on here. This blog is the real deal, take it or leave it. This photo is a prime example of love. “In sickness and in health”. My husband loves me when I’m sick, AND when I’m my little hyper, happy, sarcastic self! Just ANOTHER blessing of mine. Amen.
Another thing? Grey hair! Lol
“In rare cases, premature graying may be triggered by health issues like thyroid disease or problems with the pituitary glands. Autoimmune diseases that attack the skin and hair, such as alopecia or vitiligo, can also cause grays. … “So if your body is attacking your hair cells, you can go gray as a result.”Nov 7, 2016” Health Magazine
You can also lose your hair with Lupus! My hair is finally growing back out again. I’m pretty stoked about that! I’m hoping it will stay that way! I’d love to have my long hair back this time next year.
The old me:
One thing that quickly floods OUT of your system is VANITY (when you’re ill). Not to say on my good days that I don’t try to look presentable. But to be honest? When you have a chronic illness, it just depends on the day. 🙄
Tomorrow will be a better day. I can feel God working on my behalf as I write. It took me a year to realize I will have good days and bad. I try to take it with a grain of salt now.
“Ella tiptoes into the conversation. “You’ve had a bad day, haven’t you?”
“Jes’ been another day, that’s all,” Tucker replied. Leaning back against the stove, she folds her arms across her chest. “I done decided a long time ago that a day ain’t nothin’ more than that; good r’ bad, it’s jes’ a day. Anybody can git through one day. An’ I’ve jes’ bout made it through this day.” An Unexpected Frost, David Johnson
